The Beginnings

October 7th, 2017 was a full moon and was when Scott and Carol first met. They had probably crossed paths previously, as they both enjoyed running around St. Louis, and Scott had even been to a few of Carol’s shows, but that night was the beginning of their love story.

They discussed cats, cool doorways, brunch spots, and suddenly they had new adventures to experience together in the town they they knew so well.

Many date nights later, the two found that they were the perfect match. They loved finding flowers and sipping cocktails together. Carol adored how smart and sweet Scott was. Scott found Carol exciting and clever.

“I’m not here to add chaos to your life.”

“A little chaos is good.”

The Journey

We’ve had a lot of tests to our relationship. Traveling together, house renovations, the grief of losing loved ones, lockdown from a global pandemic, career changes, moving across the country and more. But one thing we’ve always kept as our moto is that it’s never you vs. me, it’s us vs. the obstacle.

And we’ve had a lot to celebrate. Scott has worked in three different industries as an engineer and designed a helicopter! Carol landed a dream job in tech and shines on stages across Hollywood. We always try to take time celebrate our achievements. There’s a lot of support for each other along the way.

We are truly a team that’s been made only stronger through the challenges and support by all our loved ones. Thank you for helping our love grow.

The Proposal

One of our favorite things to do in California is to take a drive to Paso Robles, pull up to a winery and take in the view. We became wine club members one our first visit to commit ourselves to the kind of weekend getaway every six months. Scott surprised me at one of the wineries while we were walking to stare at the scenery. He picked me a bud of lavender and we both teared up as we promised each other forever.

My engagement ring was gifted to us by my mother, and originally belonged to grandmother, Alice. The center stone was once on the engagement ring given to her by my grandfather. After some enhancements over the years (Alice has great taste!), we were thrilled to receive such a unique and stunning piece of jewelry. Each side has seven diamonds which coincidentally seems to represent the seven years that Scott and I have been together at the time of his proposal. I love having a ring that reminds me of multiple loved ones at once.
